Annual General Meeting

Notice is hereby given for the ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING (AGM) which will be held Friday 10 October 2025 at 7.30pm in the Mustang Clubrooms on Jean Howie Drive, Morningside. 

The business of the AGM will be:

• Proposing a special resolution to vote on the adoption of a new Constitution. If members wish to discuss any points of the proposed Constitution, each member will be allowed 3 minutes to state their points prior to the vote. 75% of the members present at the meeting (in person or online via Zoom) and eligible to vote must vote 'yes' for the special resolution to be passed, as per the rules of the Office of Fair Trading, Queensland.
• The Treasurer's report for the financial year will be tabled for adoption.
• The Committee will then stand down, and an interim Chair will be appointed.
• The interim Chair will conduct voting for the new Committee.
• The new President will take the chair and introduce the guest speaker, John Morrison, who is a very experienced Firefighter and will discuss causes and management of lithium battery fires, both in vehicles and in the home. He will show photos and videos to assist his presentation.

Officer Nomination Process

• Nomination forms for Committee and Non-committee positions are attached.
• Committee positions: President, Vice President,Treasurer, Membership Manager, Club Captain (including assets and regalia), Media Manager and Secretary.

• Non-Committee positions: Newsletter Editor, North Coast Representative, South Coast Representative, Wide Bay Representative.

• Nominations open on 11 September and close at midnight on 26 September

• To nominate for a position, please print and complete the relevant nomination form (emailed to all members or available from the secretary, then scan and email it to the Secretary at secretary@spritecarclub.com 

• The names of the nominees for the above positions will be sent to all members no later than 1 October to allow you time to consider your vote.

• If you cannot attend the AGM in person or via Zoom, you may email your votes to the Secretary at secretary@spritecarclub.com, simply listing the position/s and the name/s of the person you are voting for. Please ensure your vote is emailed from the email address registered with the Club. All votes must be received by the Secretary by 7pm on Wednesday 8 October.

• NOTE: nominations will only be taken from the floor of the AGM if no nomination has been received for a position.
